Salem Oregon, Labor Day Floaty Float Kayak Paddle with BBQ, Music, Games & Prizes! It is $5 per person, $45 if you need to rent a kayak, includes tour guide, kayak/ gear is shuttled to launch/ take out. (Only 8 spots for rentals). All kayakers welcome, floaty requirement for parade/prizes. (GRAND PRIZE WINNER) is whoever can get the most votes beneath there photo from the event on Salem Kayak Rentals LLC Facebook Page! Encourage friends and family to (leave comment beneath your photo)! Grand prize is either a Gift Certificate for two to Olive Garden, or Free kayak excursion of any location of choice for up to 3 people, includes gear and shuttling gear to location. Or 2 free kayak or paddle board rentals, or $50 off towards a bounce house rental by Salem Jumper Rentals LLC.

We launch from West Salem Wallace Marine Boat Ramp, paddle across the Willamette River towards the steam boat. Meeting over at the Minto Brown Bridge area to show off and parade for park goers and enjoy free BBQ and Music. Followed by starting to all float down river to Keizer Rapids Park boat launch around 12:45PM. Music, Games and Prizes will be given away during the float down river to take out at Keizer Rapids Park. Hoping to be finished by 3pm. This is our 3rd year, and it keeps getting bigger!

If you are a paying customer for rentals, requirements for the kayaks are 235pds or less and under 6'1", for safety purposes for our sit inside kayaks for this event. To make sure everyone fits these kayaks at arrival for safety. Must be in good physical condition, upper arm strength, and be able to get up from a sitting position without any assistance, restrooms are only available at Wallace Marine Park, there is no restrooms once we start the float down river, until the take out at Keizer Rapids Park. This is a shorter float.

MUST SEND TEXT to complete registration for waiver and payment link to 503-877-8449 (text Labor Day). Everyone must wear a life vest/ PFD and NO Alcohol, Bring water, snack, sunscreen. This trip is guided by Salem Kayak Rentals LLC/ Oregon Guided Kayak Tours LLC. Everyone is expected to take directions from Tour Guide Shannon. We ask everyone who is participating, (DO NOT BLOCK BOAT RAMP) allow motor boats through. It Is a busy Holiday. If you are brining you own kayak, you must carry kayak in from the parking lot, and carry out at take out. So we are not jamming up the boat ramp. Only 2-3 people at a time are launching and at take out. To avoid chaos at the boat ramps on Labor Day. Everyone will take their turns getting out, waiting to left side of Keizer Rapids boat launch in the eddy (water that does NOT have a current pull). As long as everyone follows rules, this event has always gone smooth with no problems. We have kayakers with yellow vest, to reach to for need of help with assistance.
